Mexico, Nov 8 (Prensa Latina) About 3.5 million Mexican children are exploited as labor, according to a study released by the Faculty of Law of the National University of Mexico.
That reality is recognized by the International Labor Organization, stated university expert Margarita Villanueva, adding that Mexican child workers also face problems of malnutrition and a lack of education and medical attention.
Some of these child workers suffer abuse and even sometimes live in slavery, without respect for their rights or guarantees to safeguard their welfare, she said.
Every year about 60,000 children are involved in prostitution nationwide, induced by unscrupulous people who exploit then and go unpunished, said Villanueva.
