The Public Prosecutor's Office commenced a new trial against Córdoba based on alleged information found in the computers seized from slain guerrilla chief of the Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces (FARC), alias "Mono Jojoy," DPA reported.
"Mono Jojoy," actually Víctor Suárez, was killed in a military operation last September 22, where several laptops and USB mass storage devices were seized. The information that was found there is being used by authorities for intelligence purposes and court proceedings.
Córdoba, dismissed and barred from public office for 18 years by the Public Prosecutor's Office, claimed that the new charges "are part of a complete plot" against her. The former Senator has been accused of having links with the FARC.
According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, in the computers property of "Mono Jojoy," a paper entitled "Funding activities of Senator Piedad Córdoba from Venezuela," was found
