A group of 30 persons was robbed by armed men on their way to the Monserrate church, one of Bogota's main tourist attractions, W Radio reported Thursday.
One of the victims told the radio station that "heavily armed men" forced a group of visitors who were climbing the road leading to the church to sit down and "calmly and without any rush" robbed the group of their possessions.
When reporting the robbery, the victims were told that "you know that you can't climb that road but you do it anyway," the victim said.
Bogota's government secretary, in charge of security in the city, told W Radio that the city administration "has not forgotten security on the hill."
