La Paz, Jan 20 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian health care professionals, technicians and authorities on Thursday will begin debating a program to make health care services free in four years.
At a national health care congress in session until Friday, participants will discuss the new policies promoted by the Evo Morales government, such as the questions involved in creating a Unified Health System (SUS).
Free health care is backed by the Constitution enacted in February 2009, but much remains to be done to consolidate that right and efficient services for the population.
In Bolivia, there are nearly 3,000 health care facilities structured with emergency and health centers at a first level, general hospitals and basic specialties at a second level, and more complex specialty hospitals at a third level.
