Court drops corruption charges against Zelaya

and maybe opens road for return of Honduras to OAS.

Appeals court on Monday nullified charges of corruption against Mel Z. Charges of political crimes against him by the golpistas were dropped last year.

lobo agreed to the latest dropping of corruption charges last month when he barged into a Santos/Chavez summit in Cartagena. lobito is itching to get back into the OAS and those were the conditions imposed by Santos/Chavez.

Next move will be up to Mel Z., who has said he needs absolute guarantees that some golpista sicario (hitman) will not plug him if he returns to Honduras from his exile in DR.

1. He's wise to stay away until the coup leaders get taught a few lessons by fate.
They need to be chastened with intensity.

It's more important he stays safe, and murder-free.

Hope the people will learn somehow how many, MANY people in the outside world support them, and think of them continually in their struggle for freedom.

Hope the golpistas won't hesitate to burn in hell.

2. BBC link
An appeal court in Honduras has dropped all corruption charges against former President Manuel Zelaya, who was ousted and forced into exile in June 2009.

The court's decision clears the way for his possible return and could also see Honduras readmitted to the Organization of American States (OAS).

Honduras was expelled from the OAS and many countries broke off ties after Mr Zelaya was removed from power.

Prosecutors said they were considering an appeal against the court's ruling.

3. Update: Golpista appeal rejected

The Honduran Supreme Court today rejected motions by golpistas in lobito's government to overturn the lower appeals court nulliication on Monday of corruption against Mel Z.

Some are saying this opens the way for Z to return and for Honduras to be re-admitted to the OAS.

Brazil, Venezuela and others have been saying they would not object on the OAS question if Z is allowed to return.

But, with the Latin American and Caribbean Community (CELAC) about to become the alternate OAS (in early July), supecting that perhaps Brazil and firends care not one whit about Honduras getting back in the OAS.

The question is whether CELAC will admit lobito and his golpista gang. We shall see.
