"This is an important and decisive blow to global terrorism," said Santos in a press release.
"It proves once again that terrorists, sooner or later, always fall. In the global fight against terrorism there is only one way: to persevere, persevere and persevere."
Santos also called his U.S. counterpart at around 1:00PM to personally congratulate him on the "triumph against terrorism".
