--------------------

Translation mine:

Food sovereignty that Hugo preaches continues depending on imports.

The highest rate of import increase was coffee at 624,945.8%. Between January and March Ven imported $36.7 million dollars of the product, while the same period in 2010 was $5,879.23.

Vicenete Perez, director of Fedeagro, said the principle reason for the pronounced increase of imported coffee is that Venezuela keeps being less profitable to grow coffee, which makes the producers abandon the crops.

The increase in imports of palm oil wqas 1559.7%, and for rice 2840.6%

-------------------------------

between the corrupt politicians, violent police, crime, lack of a judicial system, woeful health care system, and completely inadequate agricultural sector it is very fortunate that Venezuela has lots of oil.
