Caracas, Jun 23 (Prensa Latina) More than 600 delegates to the 4th International Forum of Afro-Descendents joined forces for Haiti, a country suffering a humanitarian crisis triggered by a powerful earthquake and worsened by a cholera epidemic.
Participants created a commission comprising prominent individuals from different nations who will monitor how financial aid promised by the international community to rebuild Haiti is being channeled.
For three days, the commission met and debated initiatives aimed at guaranteeing the investment of those funds in reconstruction projects, the fight against cholera and placement for those who lost their homes in the January 2010 quake.
