Bono of U2 buys into the Diaz-Balart mindset (yeech)

The Bono-Diaz Balart connection: a free Cuba, Dr. Biscet
At last night's U2 concert, surrounded by Amnesty International candles, Bono told the crowd of the struggles of Dr. Oscar Biscet, doing 25 years time in a Cuban prison for human-rights work. Background here. Bono has been personally lobbied on the Biscet's cause by Miami Rep. Mario Diaz Balart, who met with the rock star last week and last year to raise awareness of human-rights issues, Biscet and Orlando Zapata, another jailed activist who died in 2010 after staging a hunger strike on the island. Diaz-Balart's brother, former Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart, has also met with Bono (who paid a visit last week to Sen. Marco Rubio in D.C.).

After the shoutout, Republican fundraiser Ana Navarro told Rep. Diaz-Balart about it via email.

Navarro says Bono didn't limit his song to Cuban political prisoners. He also highlighted the plight of Myanmar's jailed moral leader, Aung San Suu Kyi.

"He also dedicated, It's Beautiful Day to Gabby Giffords and featured a video from Mark Kelly which was recorded when he was on space shuttle, some weeks ago, where he sent a message of optimism to the world and a special message of love to his wife. It was quite moving," Navarro said in an email.

I may also be labelled as retarded by some. Difference is, that I knew and shared the brutal history the Diaz-Balart slave-drivers inflicted on the lives of thousands in the Cuban Soweto of Banes, where these born-again Black lovers of Biscet, Zapata, Antunez and others, would have had to enter their homes through the kitchen door, in order to cook, clean, wash their dirty clothes or care their children, while they played Bridge, Polo or Tennis and deprived their servants of electricity, running water, sewer, jobs, schools or health care.

Proven Racists and Hypocrites who are now shamefully using the tragedy of Reina Luisa Zapata's son, just as they did before with Paula Valiente, another black woman who was cruelly used, deceived and dumped, as they will with Reina Luisa.

1. Note: this article says Biscet is still in prison
Biscet, a physician awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President George W. Bush in 2008, was released from prison in March after serving eight years of a 25-year sentence for “acts against the sovereignty and independence” of Cuba.

Do a search on his name and Bono and you'll see that the Miami Cubans etc. are in there making sure all articles say he is still in prison.

Anything to screw up the lightened embargo restrictions. Hey let's just continue the same behavior for another 50 years, great idea.

3. You remember he befriended mega-racist Sen. Jesse Helms,
who authored the Helms-Burton bomb which made the embargo even more painful for the Cuban people.

This tells me he is an exceedingly superficial man who isn't motivated by character or intelligence to look for the truth which is there for everyone to know. Screw this creep.

4. Thank you for adding the second link. Sounds very much like the kinds of information
discussed in the writings of Dr. Alfredo Jones, who also grew up in the very same area, who touched on so many of the same facts, and said that even to be able to get to see a doctor, the people had to go to the owner's home and beg the owner to agree to write a permission letter to the doctor so they could take their child or loved one there for help. They could NOT go directly, themselves. It all depended on the will of the landowner.

Also said that with the poorest mothers, if they dared, they would go to the back door of the owner's house well after dinner in case they had left-over food they would give them from the discarded food after the meal, for their children.

Also said that the poor children who had received small lunches at school for a while earlier, once Batista was officially President again, had their lunches withdrawn. They were desperate in every sense. Only seasonal work in the fields.

They lived with an open sewer running past their houses. No lights, plumbing, nada. Damned sick.

Now Bono's been bought, just like so many politicians already whored out by the Miami Mafia.
