Colombia's President Juan Manuel Santos announced Thursday a partnership with Argentina to provide an economic boost and open new routes for foreign investment, business, and tourism in Latin America, reported Caracol Radio.
After arriving at the Argentine President Cristina Kirchner's office in Buenos Aires, Santos held a meeting with Kirchner and several business leaders and investors to elaborate their goal of expanding and strengthening the Argentine economy.
"More than 200 businesses are interested, and we see in Argentina an atmosphere that is ready for the investment of tourists and the expansion of aerial routes," said Trade Minister Sergio Diaz-Granados.
The Colombian government hopes that their businesses will have the same success in Buenos Aires that they have had in Chile. Santos will also be meeting with the Argentine president Thursday to explore the potential of new areas of investment in pharmaceuticals, combustibles, and agriculture.
