Mexico's Lopez Obrador to Run in 2012 Presidential Election
Former Mexico City mayor Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador says he will make another run for the presidency in 2012, six years after he narrowly lost the last election.

The 58-year-old leftist made the comment Tuesday after winning an opinion poll released by his party, Democratic Revolution, or PRD. The poll asked 6,000 supporters of left-wing candidates whether they preferred him or Mexico City Mayor Marcelo Ebrard.

In 2006, Lopez Obrador was defeated by current President Felipe Calderon, who is constitutionally barred from seeking a second, six-year term next year.

1. Hope the dirty deeds done to hijack the last vote counting will be wildly unsuccessful this time.
Then, millions of citizens won't need to leave their homes to protest the criminality which voided their votes at that time.

Once again, the faithful of D.U. will be up through the night, watching the returns, no doubt whatsoever.

It's time the good people of Mexico got their will respected for once. AMLO would be a fine leader, as they clearly believe.

Reuters – 17 hrs ago

(Reuters) - Mexico's left-wing parties on Tuesday backed Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador after polls showed he was

best positioned to run for president in the 2012 elections.

Mexico's main leftist force, the PRD, and other parties commissioned two national surveys conducted by polling firms picked by Mexico City Mayor Marcelo Ebrard and his party rival, Lopez Obrador.

The polls showed Lopez Obrador had greater support among the general public than Ebrard.
