2. Im thinking

something either along the lines of a timeline of events. Im not sure if it would be more useful as a issue with a timeline or a timeline showing the issues (meaning heres DADT on the timeline of LGBT rights or heres a history of Gays in the military). Im hoping maybe we could make something that people who already support LGBT rights can learn from - many of our allies and people that claim support really have very rudimentary knowledge of the history and struggle (sadly hats true of even some LGBT people I know too). The main purpose would be to give those that do support us the knowledge to discuss LGBT rights with non-suports from a angle of fact rather than emotion or belief...

Give me a topic/direction and I will see what I can do. My areas of "expertise", as it were, are linguistics, general (and some ancient, mostly Greek, Roman, and Some Middle Eastern) history, the Holocaust, homophobia (sociological/societal/individual), heterosexism, I know some about issues within the African-American community (but I am not AA), and entertainment/media portrayal.

You and I can't be the only ones interested in this. Should you X-post in the regular GLBT room and see if you can get some hits?

Im thinking maybe we should cross post it after the election - I don't want it to get lost in the election madness (we both know how DU can look the day after...)

Maybe we should make a list of topics in their own threads? Ill see what I can come up with and post it here and maybe those interested con condense or add to it...
