This is how they will kill Medicare

It's really the same way they killed abortion - it "exists", you just can't get it when they stop teaching it and provding clinics and hospitals who actually do the procedure.

Medicare will continue to exist, doctors and hospitals will just stop accepting it., Then , mirabile dictu, the Obama administration and Zeke Emanuel will pop up with the answer ---

How about VOUCHERS that you can get instead of Medicare which these same doctors and hospitals WILL accept? At some point Seniors will be asked to enroll in the suddenly not accepted Medicare Program or get vouchers for the new just as Suddenly acceptable Senior Choice program. (I made up that name)

Here it comes, ladies and gentlemen -the dismantling of Medicare for a voucher system.

1. Killing the public option didn't bode well for the future of Medicare
The reason Medicare was put into place was because the insurance companies didn't want those customers anyway. But now with community rating, they have to take old people. Soon the argument will be that there's no need for Medicare anymore.

2. Won't the "3x "higher rates for medicare eligible result in voucher
support? I can't imagine that most retired working class people are going to be more than one multiple above the poverty level. Are the vouchers for "3x" more expensive insurance going to be so much cheaper than medicare?

4. Older folks are a big voting block and they vote in big numbers.
As boomers approach Medicare age it will become even a larger block of voters. Politicians who mess with Medicare or allow it to become weakened will be looking for new jobs.
