A staff writer (Scott Eyman) for the Palm Beach Post has written an editorial that has been syndicated in newspapers across the country this past weekend> It perpetuates the heinous lie that George W. Bush actually won the election in Florida.
"Suddenly, there was the specter of a legitimate Constitutional crisis because nobody knew just who the president was. After 36 frantic days of legal maneuvering, the decision was finally made by the Supreme Court on Dec. 12, 2000, in favor of George W. Bush, who received 537 more votes than Al Gore in the state of Florida, even though he lost the popular vote in the nation as a whole."
In the Portland Oregonian, this editorial takes up 60 percent of the editorial page space!
Will you please help stop the perpetuation of this damnable lie that has strangled our country's healing process? Please write to the editor of The Oregonian at galenbarnett@news.oregonian.com and please write to your own newspaper if this editorial appeared there in the past few days. Point out the lie. Ask that a correction be printed.
We must call out this lie every stinking time we see it.
