The FBI got 'usable, actionable' intel from terrorism suspect
By Sam Youngman - 01/05/10 02:47 PM ET

FBI agents got "usable, actionable intelligence" from the suspect accused of trying to blow up a flight on Christmas Day, according to a White House spokesman.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said FBI investigators "gleaned" information from Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab after a failed attempt to bomb a Northwest Airlines flight to Detroit.

President Barack Obama is scheduled to meet with his national security team Tuesday afternoon to continue a review of the "systemic failure" that allowed Abdulmutallab to board the flight. Obama met with several officials in the Oval Office Monday afternoon as well.

The president is "anxious" to talk to his team to figure out where the security breakdown occurred, according to Gibbs who added that the review will not end with Tuesday's meeting.

Obama is scheduled to make remarks after his meeting.

6. Deep in the bowels? Don't bowels constitute the entire Institute?

5. And still let him lawyer up for a domestic trial.
And the ongoing domestic legal actions give the FBI a continuing club to hold over him regarding the accuracy of the intel, and of any further intel he might divulge. By contrast, the Bushista torture of subjects is known to have produced falsehoods.
