Ed Shultz could win the election if he decided to run..
I am out on the western borders of Iowa,

Would he be the best person..well that I do not know, but I do know he could win!

People pooh poohed the idea of Franken in Minnesota.

Just saying, that this upper mid west area, goes to the tune of a different drummer.

1. Newsflash: Schultz is NOT going to run - he lives in Minnesota and doesn't want to move.
He simply doesn't meet North Dakota residency requirements.

4. My concern about this is all the material a talk show host
has generated and how it could be exploited by an opponent.

5. Not to mention losing a leftie pundit from the air. That would definitely be a downside.

7. Franken joining the Senate was not a 'downside'
At least not in my book. Thom Hartmann stepped in and filled Franken's slot quite well. In fact, better than Franken.

I don't see how Ed Schultz would be much different. Perhaps Hartmann could take over his MSNBC show.

6. As opposed to a business person?
Find me someone with over a million without skeletons in their closet. And I'll give you a Unicorn.

9. Seems the party is courting him anyway so I reckon a loophole is out there
My problem is I don't think Big Ed is that bright and I don't love his "scan me, strip search me, but just keep the line moving" security mentality. He shouldn't be confussed with Al Franken, who I sure as hell never poo poohed a single time.

That said if Ed can get elected there then we're doing better than one should hope. He's got to be a flaming commie compared to the average Democrat in those parts.
