Is there actual proof that C-SPAN videotaped every House and Senate floor debate? I don't recall, honestly.

The uproar about transparency is mind-boggling, and it reminds me how quickly the other side forgets.......

Just sayin'.

I'd LOVE to hear some comments about this, or even better, any PROOF that the Republicans were as transparent as Obama's administration.

4. Did C-Span Demand That They Televise Cheney's Energy Talks?......
we can't even get info on those meetings now that BushCo is out of office.

And we're making an issue out of the HCR conference meetings?

12. We blasted Cheney and the Repukes for this stuff before.
Thus, there's NO WAY we should be using their behavior as an excuse to do the same thing.

6. C-Span did and does tape every House and Senate floor debate
Edited on Wed Jan-06-10 05:57 PM by frazzled
That has nothing to do with the presidency (Democratic or Republican). Their mandate is to cover the Senate and House whenever it is in session.

Do you people really understand what the Presidency is? It's not "the boss of everything."

C-Span does seem to tape Conference Committee proceedings. But I don't think these represent "negotiations." They are pro-forma public airings of the amendments to bills, with 3 or 4 minutes for each side for debate and votes.

9. Of course not, but
Is your argument really that Obama is no better than Bush? I expect more of Obama and one of the things I liked was his stand on more transparency. He specifically said the health care discussion would be covered. I am not going to settle for "well, at least he is not as bad as Bush was."

10. Did Bush say that the HC negotiations would be on CSpan and streamed lived on the net ...
still looking for the video of 80 billion dollar deal made with Pharma, Obama cited a study saying we could save 30 billion a year if Medicare negotiated for drug prices, instead a deal was cut for 80 billion over 10 years.

Now I'm wondering if that 30 billion was based on current enrollment or if it factored in the boomers taking enrollment from 46 million to 79 million.

Billy Tauzin must be happy with his negotiations after being a target in one of Obama's campaign ads.
