16. At about 1:42 AM you should be able to find the link on www.hulu.com (comedy 'channel')
Usually, the sane person just waits until the next day... but sometimes I'm up... and... well... :+

4. Just caught that myself how about the one
to eliminate income taxes on seniors making less than $50000. How about that other one he will not raise taxes on people making under $250,000.

5. Could you imagine Lieberman commenting on what's going on if it was broadcast on C-SPAN?

He'd be trying to stop whatever negotiations they may have with getting a Public Option in the final bill and have CNN and Fox News to go on TV with...

Based on how Lieberman changed his tune on lowering Medicare benefits for people to age 55 because Rep. Wiener(NY) was for it, I'm glad it's being ironed out away from his soft little hands.

6. I have such mixed feelings on this. I mean, I understand why it's not being broadcast but
Obama said that he would have these negotiations on CSpan over and over on the campaign trail.

12. Y'know, if not being public about this is a way to keep the Repubs
from further stalling and disrupting tactics, then I'm all for it and I'm all for the President finally realizing that he needs to endrun them. Unfortunately that means we don't get what he promised, but it's not like we aren't going to know the final bill. It's not that secret.

It great for comedians and I love Jon Stewart, but I for one am glad for the tactic that is causing the lack of transparency on this one. Some other places, not so much, but this, fine.

13. Do you really think that the republicans are being kept in the dark on this?
What part of this process or even this entire session of congress makes you believe that? Baucus is in that room and he was the one briefing republicans instead of Democrats on this bill from the beginning.

The only thing this lack of transparency succeeds in is making sure we the people don't have as much time to see how badly they're fucking us over.

24. I suppose that's one perspective. I didn't say they were being
kept in the dark, I said they were being kept from causing stoppages and some of their pre-planned shenanigans to keep it from getting the final voting. My understanding is that this process will keep them from utilizing certain procedural tactics to waylay the bill.

19. As I recall, Obama blamed the "closed door" nature of HCR in the '90's
for Bill's failure. Whether or not people watch cspan is irrelevent.

20. LOL! The only thing confusing about the Cadillac Tax proposal is that some have fallen for it.
Any theorized benefit to the working classes has been debunked repeatedly, often to you. Yet the propaganda continues. Why?

23. Jon Stewart agrees with the president's critics at DU.
Let's face it. President Obama has not lived up to much of his campaign rhetoric. I suppose we should have known, but I really believed him when he said he was different kind of politician. I thought he meant "better," though, not "less effective."

We'll see where he goes this year. Hopefully, he remembers and commits to more of his promises.
