MA-Sen: Coakley Lead Down to 2 in Rasmussen
Rasmussen (1/11, likely voters, 1/4 in parentheses):

Martha Coakley (D): 49 (50)
Scott Brown (R): 47 (41)
Joe Kennedy (L): 3 (NA)
Not sure: 2 (7)
(MoE: ±3%)

Rasmussen finds a tightening Senate race, with a two-point lead for Democratic AG Martha Coakley over Republican state Sen. Scott Brown, as undecideds seem to have broken in his favor over the last week (where Coakley had a nine-point lead). Barack Obama still has a 57% approval in this poll, so Coakley's continuing to have trouble sealing the deal with Democrats and D-leaning indies.

Taegan Goddard is also teasing news of the latest DSCC internal poll; the one from last week had a 14-point edge, but allegedly the most recent one taken this week has a 5-point lead for Coakley instead. So, the increased DSCC and DNC involvement that we discussed earlier in the digest isn't being done out of an abundance of caution, but out of real concern over a narrowing gap.

4. They elected Weld, too
and if staunch defenders of equal marriage in MA hadn't prevailed, there would have been a constitutional amendment on the MA ballot to do the same thing that Maine did a few months ago.

They were lucky to have the Kennedy family, I'm waiting to see just how many fools think that the Kennedy on this ballot is part of that family. If he gets any more than the standard 3-5 percent that a "none of the above" candidate usually gets, it will confirm that people there just aren't paying enough attention.

7. If it is Ramussen, add 4 to 5 points.
I bet her lead is 5 to 9 points. Not terrible but it is not the greatest time for Dems right now. Mass does have a higher approval rating of Obama then the national average but it all depends on turnout. Mass and CT are a lot alike in that we have elected so called moderate Govs but kept liberal state governments. I hope CT will finally elect a Dem gov in 2010, we shall see.

9. Killing me
Democrats (and voters in general) continue to break my heart. I wanted to rip out my hair in 2000 when so many people bought into the "Bush is a moderate/Bush and Gore aren't any different" crap. I had apathetic friends I tried to enlighten, but they just couldn't be moved. That election ripped me up. Then 2004, I was so freakin' sure people had woken up to the damage being done to this country by the wingers-in-moderate clothing Republicans in higher office. Again I had my heart ripped out. Suddenly, 2006 and then 2008 gave me hope that people had FINALLY opened their eyes to these crazy people pretending to be sane. Now I look at this rightwinger closing in on a Democrat in Massachusetts and ... damn. I don't get this country. I just don't get it.

8. Rassmussen the Republican polling tool?
I would say she was down some, but this poll is being down to excit Repubs into shelling out more money to Brown.

11. Watch, over the weekend Rasmussen will have Coakley pulling out ahead
This has been Rasmussen's MO. They even pulled this shit in the presidential election and it wasn't until the last poll where they showed Obama pretty much where he finished.

12. I'm not buying it
This isn't even a swing state, there hasn't been a single Republican in the Congressional delegation for a number of years. This is an attempt to manipulate the election and it's dishonest.
