Pat Robertson's 'pact with the Devil' Haiti comments leave White House adviser Jarrett speechless'
The White House has added its voice to the growing chorus slamming the Rev. Pat Robertson's suggestion that a Haitian "pact with the Devil" brought about the earthquake that devastated the Caribbean nation.

Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to President Obama, said the Robertson's remarks left her "kind of speechless."

"That's not the attitude that expresses the spirit of the president or the American people, so I thought it was a pretty stunning comment to make," she said on "Good Morning America."

Robertson's organization has quickly backpedaled on the controversial comments.

In a statement on his Web site, a Christian Broadcasting Network spokesman says he didn't mean to imply the earthquake was the Haitians' fault, and that he was merely repeating a legend that has led "countless scholars and religious figures over the centuries to believe the country is cursed."

3. Disasters always happen for a reason say men like Pat Robertson
And that reason is usually to cause fear among his flock so he can shake them down.

4. He's such an idiot.
"countless scholars and religious figures over the centuries to believe the country is cursed."

But a stolen country built on genocide and slave labor is not cursed.

5. What an idiot
Pat Robertson made a pact with the devil. He pushes rational people further away from religion in exchange for the cult-following and money of the excessively stupid and evil.

21. Idiot? Not much.
He's at the top of a billion-dollar crime syndicate. Blood-diamonds, slave-trade, heisting money from the old and infirm.

His followers OTOH, yeah, they absolutely qualify as idiots.

I don't believe in hell, but if I did, I'd have no problem envisaging him sizzling in it.

8. "God loves the people of Haiti. He hasn't turned his back on Haiti," the Rev. Franklin Graham
Son of Billy Graham, and the true face of Christian compassion.

Why Billy Graham had to pass while scumballs like Robertson are still running around is heartbreaking.

17. I think mrbarber probably meant Billy Graham as the true face of Christianity.
Franklin Graham not so much.

I'm not a Christian, but I heard Billy Graham speak when I was a kid and was truly impressed that he was one of the ones who led by example and was sincere in his beliefs.

19. not to get too picky
I was a Christian and was revolted that all of the time Graham preached Blacks were getting beaten up and attacked by dogs in places lilke Selma and Graham never lifted his voice.

His example of silence was I am sure sincere but had little to do with the New Testament.

His was the one voice that could have dramatically changed the level of violence.

and oral roberts....I thought Graham was still among us.

Franklin graham, along w/ robertson & falwell, also used abortion and gays as why we earned 9/11. The only time I ever watched fixed news, there he was w/ that horse faced guy - hume? spewing that shit. I was dumbfounded!

11. Jesus is pretty clear on this one.
John 9:2 & 3

"And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him."

You dont get earthly punishments for sin.

14. white folks rebel in 1776 against the british
and they get manifest destiny from God to win that war and then exterminate the native americans and steal thier land. Not even 20 years later blacks rebel against France and they supposedly need the help of the devil to do so, so see god helps whites and satan helps blacks, they said so at church.......
