Progressive?
When did it become progressive to hope that a Democrat loses to a Republican?

Corzine leaves office and goes about his business. Everyone, including Democrats who sat out the election, is stuck with Chris Christie. That'll show the Democrats?

7. Coakley is definitely a Democrat
Maybe not your flavor of Democrat. But she'll be a solid Dem vote in the Senate.

Edited on Fri Jan-15-10 09:09 PM by Harry Monroe
NEVER vote Republican. If there is no other candidate to vote for except a Repuke, write in Micky Mouse or Superman.

On Edit: Better yet, be creative and write in "Mike Hunt" "Dick Hertz" "Amanda Hugginkiss" "Hugh Gass" or "I.P. Freely". Use your imagination!!

3. You are confusing hoping for something with thinking something will happen.
We warned you this bill would be bad for dems. You pooh poohed us.

Now do you see the hcr bill and lack of action on jobs puts us in jeopardy? When will you see?

- nothing worse that a "told you so" - never mind that you're completely wrong - but you know that.

You're all negativity, all the time.

19. Yeah believing in global warming is such a downer too.
It sucks when you recognized the problem, told everyone about it, got ridiculed and mocked, and turn out to be right.

I've never been one to lie about what I see coming.

21. Only last week I said the hcr bill was going to doom us because we dropped the ball on jobs
Someone said we had months to fix It and they teased me for being concerned. Said I needed to relax blah blah blah.

Then all of a sudden we realize this MA race is in trouble.

I am so tired of losing. We had our little one year of success and now it feels like the old days.

And make no mistake. Anything less than a blow out for Teddy Ks seat is sad.

23. Yes, the President can make jobs.
Edited on Fri Jan-15-10 11:02 PM by HughMoran
...out of thin air. :eyes:

The people too busy bashing the President & not caring that the Republicans are loving every minute of our self-destruction are why we are losing ground.

Look in the mirror.

24. The way to save jobs is/was to fund the sba since the banks won't lend to them
Obama should have concentrated on making sure small business could survive. Large corporations aren't the driver of job growth in the economy it is small business that grows jobs. Yet the advantages big business gets are almost insurmountable.

Green jobs aren't coming along fast enough because there are no overwhelming incentives for individuals to move to renewables. Every future dollar we don't spend on oil is funds we can keep in the US.

6. Do you hope Coakley wins?
Then the post doesn't apply to you, but please it's completely disingenuous to claim there aren't people advocating this outcome for the very reason stated in the OP.

9. My hope is that Brown loses- and Coakley and others get a clue
as to why the race is close enough to even be having this discussion.

On the other hand, I'm not so blind as to miss the longer term silver linings that may come from the leadership having to learn the lesson (again) the hard way.

11. Hardly a cop out
but rather a rational response to the failure to learn.

It's not like seasoned and objective observers couldn't see this coming a long way off...

The question really is how many repeat performances does the leadership find acceptable?

Seems to me that a bunch of opportunists are using a close election to justify their wishful thinking and declare it wisdom.

18. Been there, done that!
remember?

I'm sure, you liked it then, hey? Wasn't very long ago,
and that your GOP majority got us into two wars, gave us Medicare Part D,
and sunk our economy.

By "they", I guess you mean, us Democrats.....which would mean that "you" is a Republican.

Some of us do not see ourselves as "anti-republican"s but rather as "pro-democracy" and progressive. Doesn't mean one supports Republicans either.

25. Those would be the same "progressives" who thought voting
for Ralph Nader would "teach the Dems a lesson." Yeah, that was a great lesson. The only thing I learned was what I already knew -- Republicans can't govern and none of them is worse than George Bush.

Cutting your nose off to spite your face is NEVER EVER a good idea.

30. K&R. That so called "logic" on the part of some 'progressives' is nothing short of idiotic.
Kind of like the whole Gore or Kerry=Bush memes that some of these same folks pushed in 2000 and 2004. Yeah, THAT turned out well, didn't it?
