What Kind Of Voting Machines Does Massachusetts Have?
Edited on Sat Jan-16-10 09:53 AM by KittyWampus
hoping someone who lives there can clue me in.

Here is some preliminary googling:

Essex (Marblehead) May 2004 Ballots were miscounted. In one race the machine count was 1,834 to 1,836 but hand recount showed actual tally of 1,831 to 1,830 and election results were overturned.
Diebold

Worcester(Uxbridge) April 2004 Voting machines skipped over more than 170 ballots affecting the outcome of at least one election.

Candidates in other races did not request a recount in time and those races could not legally be recounted.

4. In my town we mark up a ballot and put into an optical scanner.

Presumably they save the ballots for recount/verification purposes. Not sure how the scanned data is handled.

6. It's not touch screen vaporvoting... but those scanners aren't secure..
It is a source of concern to the verified voting community. .
