Obama to give first State of the Union address January 27
Senior administration officials confirm President Obama will deliver his State of Union address on January 27 at 9 p.m. ET.

The decision for Obama to deliver the nationally televised speech next week was made Monday, offficials said.

3. Turns out the reason for the date may not be so politically motivated...
WH originally planned to schedule State of Union 1st week of Feb, but networks objected b/c "that is a key ratings period"
