He has very honestly expressed his expressions, both on Coakley and over the years. I have not always agreed, but his points were always intelligent and expressed in a civil way.

I think a candidate has to earn someone's support before they actively work to lobby others. Here, it was important that he had looked at her record and it was that record that troubled him. However, he always said Brown was worse, never advocated a vote for him - even to send a message, and he just said he voted for Coakley.

For that I think those of us wanting her to win - for whatever reasons - need to thank him and hope many with his beliefs do the same thing.

During the 08 campaign, I spoke to many so-called Independent voters and found them to be boring, lazy, uninformed, easily manipulated and stupid, because they let the registered Dems and those wankers on the other side make the most important decision for them. In Colorado "unaffiliated" voters can not vote in primaries.

Massachusetts have a very large conservative wing that's just as right-wing as the national GOP. People like John Silber, Tom Finneran, former Gov. Ed King (Reagan's favorite governor), etc.

Lots of working-class voters who are Democratic for historical/cultural reasons but are fairly right-wing and sometimes bolt.
