Obama pokes Rick Perry with a stick.
grrrrr!!! Because its fun to poke a troll with a stick.

President Obama gently rebuked Texas Gov. Rick Perry's decision not to participate in the administration's "Race to the Top" education reform program Tuesday, in remarks on school reform during a visit to Virginia.

Announcing a new $1.35 billion investment to expand the program to allow local school districts to compete for grants, Obama said: "Innovative districts like the one in Texas whose reform efforts are being stymied by state decision-makers will soon have the chance to earn funding to help them pursue those reforms."

Last week, Perry declared that "Race to the Top" intruded on states' rights. In a letter to Education Secretary Arne Duncan, the governor argued that participating would only win $75 per student in one-time funding for Texas, while imposing long-term costs to implement national standards.

"Prohibiting states from adopting more comprehensive and rigorous curriculum standards at a time when our nation’s students are preparing to complete in an increasingly vast global marketplace is counterproductive," he wrote. "Placing such limitations on states also undercuts the very competition that results in higher standards for all."

1. It's a start. But he REALLY needs to call the hard cases out, and do it by name
And do it over and over and over.

We now know that NOBODY on the other side will ever work with us.

3. In San Antonio we've got a major that imitates BO more and more each day, conversely
Perry is begining to look a talk more and more like W. I'm going to vote for Hutchinson in the govenors race if it looks like the dem can't win or we do something stupid like not nominate Bill White.

4. I really think Bill White will win the nomination, he is already pointing
out how gov good hair is criticizing the stimulus but is parading around Texas handing out these funds telling people this is part of the stimulus. Perry is trying to make it his business to be in the same place as Bill White to keep the focus on his trifling self, he was in Houston last week but we love White here. Kind of disappointed he is restricted by term limits, besides Perry know Bill White has no problem calling him on his BS like during Katrina when Oprah did a show Bill correctly told gov goodhair he has too much work to do in Houston for Perry's photo op.
