More (R)asmussen Election Night Poll: Health care huge, defining issue.

Health care has been a huge issue in this election. Fifty-two percent (52%) of Brown voters say it was the most important issue in determining their vote. Sixty-three percent (63%) of Coakley voters say health care was the top issue:

· 78% of Brown voters Strongly Oppose the health care legislation before Congress.

· 52% of Coakley supporters Strongly Favor the health care plan. Another 41% Somewhat Favor the legislation.

· 61% of Brown voters say deficit reduction is more important than health care reform.

· 46% of Coakley voters say health care legislation more important than deficit reduction.

· 86% of Coakley voters say it’s better to pass the bill before Congress rather than nothing at all.

· 88% of Brown voters say it’s better to pass nothing at all.

3. Deficit reduction when the stimulus is the only thing propping up the economy

Most of the same white people who scream about deficit reduction now voted for the guy who turned our surplus into a deficit. Except he did it by giving money away to rich people. Now that more money goes to poor folks than it did under Bush, many of them non-whites, they scream about deficit reduction. It's racist and, given the realities of the moment, suicidal.

Do we honestly think we could have generated $120 billion by reducing health care premiums to increase salaries? That looks unrealistic as a source of funds.

"Deficit reduction" is a false issue re. HCR and an insane approach re. the economy. But it does makes Republicans and white guys feel good to talk about it when there's a Democrat in charge.

Insurance companies cut premiums and that money would go straight into the workers pocket. Do you think you can take that to the bank in this awful economy?

I think it is an unrealistic assumption. I don't care who makes that prediction. They are nuts to think reducing the cost of benefits automatically results in a raise.

Talk about spending money like a drunken sailor and also giving it away to the wealthy fat cats. Stupdity and a complete lack of historical perspective run rampant in that movement.

Considering that all Republicans, Tea-Baggers, 3/4 of all "Independents" and at least 1/2 of the Democrats on this board are against the Health Care Bill.. why is ANYONE suprised by this?

14. NO, they are afraid of having to pay higher taxes for Nebraska.

They are also afraid to be taxed on high price insurances, given that MA insurances are expensive.

There is a reason why the middle class did not vote for her and the high and low income did (and this is not Rasmussen who invented that. The map of results by town says the same thing). She was the same bad candidate for all, but some of them felt more threatened.

Obviously, Brown is not the solution, but better explaining what you do goes a long way.

53% of MA voters approv Obama. So it seems that Congress is held accountable
