Massachusetts is not the bluest state in America

The media keeps saying this but it isn't true. It's like how our nominee is always labeled the "most liberal person in history."

MA is blue, but not the bluest. Lots of Republican governors. Went for Reagan twice. A blue state, but not some communist enclave.

Let's list the states that are bluer than MA.

I'll start:

Hawaii.

1. Nebraska - they have 1 Rep and 1 Dem Senator too, also Alaska

Yeah, and I live in NJ, not a blue state either.

Not that Brown is one, but he was able to fool a lot of people.

It is a working class blue state. If you don't seem real to the working class here, forget about it.

When you combine the Incumbent Effect with the fact that TK was a political force of nature (and that era of Kennedy political franchise probably died with him), it suggests that just because TK kept his seat for a coon's age doesn't mean it's because MA is a rock-solid democratic state.

11. True, and though he was not Kennedy, Kerry is one of the most durable

politicians himself. Between them, they have held the Senate through many Republican upturns. It was Kerry who was elected the year Reagan won the second time in a landslide and faced the most popular Republican of the last 30 or so years, Weld in a year that many Senate Democrats had problem.

But, you can't ignore that the state legislature is very Democrat dominated and those Democrats are really not anything like either Kerry or Kennedy.

hawaii has a republican governor who was re-elected.

In Mass, all the congressional delegates (before tuesday anyway), governor, major officers are all democrats. We controlled 90% (141 out of 160) seats in Mass House and 90% (35 out of 40) seats in Mass Senate.

The only states close to Mass is probably Vermont and RI, where republican governors have been re-relected many times. Dem control 70% of Vermont house seats and 70% of Senate seats. In RI, the numbers are 90% and 85%.
