WASHINGTON - JANUARY 21: Television lights are set up in the plaza in front of the U.S. Supreme Court Building January 21, 2010 in Washington, DC. In a landmark 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that the government may not ban political spending by corporations, labor unions and other organizations in candidate elections.

Chris Despopoulos, 54, and his wife Leslie, 51, protest outside Goldman Sachs headquarters building in the financial district of New York January 21, 2010. Goldman Sachs Group Inc, which had been on track to pay employees a near-record amount, instead set aside nothing for compensation in the fourth quarter and gave $500 million to charity. The move helped the Wall Street bank report better-than-expected fourth-quarter net income of $4.95 billion.

Traders and specialists work on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange shortly before the closing bell Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, in New York. The stock market stumbled Thursday as President Barack Obama proposed an overhaul of the nation's banking system that could limit financial companies' ability to make huge profits on trading.

"Mr. President, you're doing it all wrong."

"You gotta POINT like this..."

"... and make a funny face."

"I see now Joe, let me try it again."

3. I ALMOST didn't do those....
... I ALMOST did these instead....

... funny how that changes the mood huh?

I always try to reflect the emotion of the moment in the pics I select, but I guess it's always nice to get a little pick me up every now and then huh?

4. I may be reading more into it than is there....
... but it seems she was extra peppy in those photos and the ones yesterday and in the meet and greet she did yesterday to WH visitors. (Interesting video btw.)

... but it was almost as if she knows the party faithful are feeling a little low and she's trying to keep the mood up for us.

8. So nice to see Joe smiling and enjoying himself!
And I hadn't realized Geithner was at the announcement - pics I'd seen were cropped, only showing Volcker and Obama. Damn. I was hoping he was spending a "time out" in his office.

And wow! That second shot of the Supreme Court - the people at the base of the columns. You really get an indication of how imposing and majestic it is!

Thanks again -- GREAT PICS ALL! :hi: :pals:

9. There was a bit of Twitter drama this morning....
.... debating whether or not Geitner and Summers were actually IN the room.

And you'll notice they have Goolsbee and Ortzag doing all the talking on financial matters. (Goolsbee gave part of the press briefing today.)

Fine with me. I like those two.

10. Check this out --
apparently Joe played a part in this, as well. Thankfully Obama listened to his (and others') advice, unlike Afghanistan:
