1. Got it wrong- a majority of so called Democrats can't work its will
because they lack the political fortitude and courage to do so.

Republicans on the other and, do just fine- and but for the fact that they're demonstrably insane and blindly follow a failed ideology, I would support them over the hapless and all too often complicit Dems.

2. Leaders who can't lead: Pelosi and Reid are useless.
We've lost an opportunity until we get a supermajority in the Senate again... could be a long time.

7. Dead wrong about Pelosi. But right about Reid.

3. Did it ever occur to people that what they're doing—or NOT doing—IS its will??

4. Tragically, letting the Republicans win shows a lack of will and an inability to govern.

6. Yes, over and over again, and I still go down the ramp looking for the cheese.
The whole political system is so fucked up with all of the Parliamentary procedures and opportunities to do things.

The fact is that it's almost every week I hear of some new, rarely used "procedure" which the Republicans use to get their way, but Democrats don't seem to want to explore such things. (?)

Like when Pelosi seemed totally powerless, without a veto proof majority, to do anything after 2006 to stop George Bush and to influence the path in Iraq.

Now just you watch. HCR is dead. But they're going to make it a 2010 (or even 2012?) campaign platform.

Two days ago I gave money to the DSCC. After yesterday's ruling, however, I feel like I've just been suckered.

8. Bingo.
Dems in congress may pay a little lip service to progressive ideals (sometimes very little), but that doesn't mean they're not just as firmly in the pockets of corporate interests as their Republican brethren. They're just more subtle about it.

It's all a big club, as Carlin said, and we ain't in it.

5. My father (he's a preacher) is always using this metaphor....
.... you can take two cats, tie their tales together and throw them over a clothes line.

While you may have union .... you certainly dont have UNITY.

Just because 60 people eat lunch together doesn't mean they'll always agree politically.

9. The will is whatever the people who bought them all want. The
protestations are just window dressing, with a few exceptions.

13. Actually the majority in Congress CAN work its will...
because the majority in Congress are conservative, whether they be Democrats or Republicans.

14. Well geezus Henry, maybe you should stop defending pieces of shit like Jane Harman then?
Considering she's openly working against Democratic principles and the American people. Even worse than most, when it comes to outright enabling treason, in her case.

15. The HCR bill passed senate 60-39. Now they've given up. We lose with
a 60-39 vote.
