PPP poll: Obama leads Romney, Palin
"A survey released Friday by a liberal pollster showed former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) in a dead heat with President Barack Obama in the 2012 presidential race.

It's the first time Obama has not held a lead in Public Policy Polling's (PPP) monthly presidential tracking poll.

Huckabee led Obama by a slim, one percent margin 45-44. The poll has a margin of error of 2.8 percent.

But it's not clear if Huckabee, now a Fox News host, will enter the race. Huckabee received a spate of negative attention after it was revealed in November he granted clemency to a man who later shot dead several police officers in Washington State.

The next most popular GOP candidate was former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who trails Obama 44-42, still within the margin of error. Obama leads former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) 49-41 but is the most well liked GOP candidate among Republican voters.

3. This poll is one to be concerned about.
PPP does a pretty job. They called the Massachusetts senate race on the nose.

5. Yes. Concerned in January of 2010. We have elections in 9 months.

The congressional elections will be a referendum on the president. If the president's approval is demonstrably lagging now - as the poll data reflect - it's a harbinger of bad news in the fall.

6. That poll will change many, many times.
Next week it'll be different, the next week something else...etc etc etc....that's why I hardly ever pay attention to these polls.

7. You might want to pay attention to the data and the trends.

Some polls are fairly accurate and their trends reveal important information.

8. "fairly"
As in fair or average.
Sometimes they get lucky.
Yeah, you're right. I should but I don't. Just not interested. It seems like every poll has their own agenda. This one says one thing, this one another. Not interested.

9. You are not interested in polls because your job is not on the line.
The WH and others in DC look very closely at these polls because their jobs are on the line.

14. Polls are just the lagging indicator
and the most important leading factor is "IT's THE ECONOMY STUPID".
