Senators listen to the people what they want for healthcare!
Edited on Sun Jan-24-10 12:01 PM by Rosa Luxemburg
All the way through the healthcare 'passage' (rather like the passage through the alimentary canal except it hasn't been passed yet). No Senator has ever bothered to ask their constituents what they want for healthcare. People don't like the Senators.
Each Senator seems to think they they are prophets of the health insurance gods. Why don't they have a referendum giving each household the proper facts, preventing it being hijacked by teabaggers and the rest?
If the Senators can't represent the people properly then they shouldn't be there.

1. "No Senator has ever bothered to ask their constituents what they want for healthcare."
That's not true.

Some Senators have had polls on their websites, which they have emailed links out for.

I know this, because I got an email from Dick Durbin's office linking to a poll on his website about healthcare.

While this may not be the best or most accurate way to get input from constituents, it's not true to say no Senators have asked for input.

8. agree
in any other occupation that's called a conflict of interest. Why isn't it considered one for a senator?

6. surely they know by now what people want
instead of what we the Senators it should be what we the people want. How can they possibly draft a bill without consultation with ordinary people?

11. My senators didn't bother to answer my emails...
What would you expect from Vile Kyl and Gramps McCain? They don't represent the people of Arizona.

13. Nope... they do nothing.
I'm a bit far from DC to drop in and the way our teachers' salaries are in peril, regardless of our contracts, I'm saving every penny so no $$ for traveling.
