Mitch McConnell on MTP: "The president made a decision to go hard left...
That's why he doesn't have many of my members. If he chooses to govern in the middle, I think he'll have much broader cooperation from Republicans."

That was in response to David Gregory's question about how McConnell would rate the Repubs.' performance over the past year. He also claimed the message of Brown's win in MA was that the healthchare bill went "too far" and the majority of those voters want congress to "start over." Of course, this lie was not challenged. :eyes: Transcript: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35014151/ns/meet_the_press/page/3/

1. besides being completely the opposite of what happened...
the audacity to say that unless the president matches your own politics you will refuse to govern is an admission of dereliction of duty

3. Exactly. McConnell said if the Dems. scrap the bill and start over-with things that
the REPUBS. want, like tax cuts and tort reform-THEN they'll work with them. :eyes:

5. It's not "hard left"-but that doesn't stop them from SAYING it over and over. Andrea Mitchell used
the same words to describe Obama's "new populist attitude."

I think you're thinking of Peggy Noonan.

9. Tossing Mitch a clue
the Democrats won in November to get your party OUT of control.
They don't want your party's members.
...and what the hell would your party know about governing in the middle?

11. Tweety was talking about that on his syndicated show as well...
..... with all of his panelists (including a couple who appear on his MSNBC show as "from the left" journalists) agreeing.

I think we sometimes forget all of the US doesn't view politics through the same lens DU does. ;)

15. I know...
I saw that show, too. He (and many other THs) are stuck on the false idea that Obama governed from the "far left" after campaigning in the center. He's ALSO convinced that Brown's election proved that America does not want healthcare reform, that the current bill goes "too far left" when the polls done showed just the opposite.

20. Why no one ever corrects these --hard left.
How hard is it to say, Excuse Senator but that bill is more
right than left as it set up to give Insurance Companies the advantage.
Not one item that would make it left --Single Payer, PO or Medicare for
all.

Are you saying Senator that to try pass universal health care if
going hard left--no matter what the bill does.

People believe these unchallenged lies and the GOP know. That
is why they do it.

Today 4 different "talkers" commented that the Republicans were
left out of HC Debate. Obama just worked with the Left.

This is left out there for people to believe.

Baucus wasted at least 3 months putsying around with GOP.
The Committee turned into pretzels trying to appease Enzi and
Grassley.

How many times did Obama go to see GOP plus have them to WH?

26. Hom much more could centrist could Obama go? He was trying to appeal to the conservatives in the Dem
party the whole time to get health care passed and got screwed over by all of them. Plus, the polls out of Mass do not show what that turd is saying.
