MSNBC: Beau Biden Not Running for Senate. He will run for re-election as attorney general.

Beau Biden just released a statement.

Beau Biden, VP's son, won't seek US Senate seat
By RANDALL CHASE

The Associated Press
Monday, January 25, 2010; 9:37 AM

DOVER, Del. -- Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden will not be running for the U.S. Senate seat once held by his father, Vice President Joe Biden.

The younger Biden told supporters in an e-mail Monday that he will run for re-election as attorney general rather than seek the Democratic nomination for Senate.

His decision ends months of speculation on whether he would run for the seat his father held for 36 years.

It also leaves veteran Republican congressman and former two-term governor Mike Castle, one of the most successful politicians in Delaware history, still waiting for a Democratic opponent.

2. I have a new found respect for Beau Biden. He deserves better than a career as a politician.
Politics seemingly in today's CORRUPT Corporate World brings out THE WORST in everybody. I can't blame any half way decent person for denying a career as "a politician."

4. Beau is a good guy.
I doubt he wants to be away from his family again after being away from them a whole year after being in Iraq. Plus, it is a bad year for Dems. I cannot blame him for not wanting to run.

12. I agree - it is really impressive that many people have put up with that for decades
I am grateful that people, like Senator Kerry, continue to fight on even after all the attacks on him and his wonderful wife.

6. Democrats don't appear to have
any fight for these mid terms. Guys retiring or deciding not to run. Not good in my opinion

7. He probably wouldn't have beaten Castle anyway.
I'm hopeful that Castle won't be horrible. He'd easily be the most liberal Republican senator in years.

9. Delaware
Castle will win now.Beau Biden was the only shot at beating him.

This means we will defently lose 4 seats right now.Delaware,ND,Nevada, and Arkansas.
And Colorado could go eather way.We will probally keep the Illinois and New York seats.
Our only shots at picking up Republican seats are Missouri,Ohio, and NH.

The key to 2010 not being blowout for Republicans Is engerzing Democrats and those who
put Obama In office seeing Democrats being tough on Wall Street and see signs of Improvement In Economy.

11. Do we have to give up already?
What happened to Minner, won't she run. She was a popular two term more recent governor. Castle is 70. There ought to be some Democrat that could beat him.

13. I disagree on NY
There is not a single Republican polling better than either NY Senator, both who are up. Someone needs to tell Ford to get lost.

17. my mistake
I haven't heard much about Illinois. It is pretty blue and the President has infuence, but there is also Blagovich. Even in 2004, Obama only became a run away frontrunner when his first Republican opponent imploded in a sex scandal.

16. Disappointing. :( Though I can't exactly blame him, especially after just having come back home..

I do hope we can keep the seat, though. I don't think we should give up on it (or any open seat) just yet..the year is still young! :)
