Another, HCR idea...
Saw someone else post some ideas so I will throw mine out there.

McConnell and the rest of the Republicans always talk of Tort reform (specifically limits on lawsuits against doctors) being the only reform needed in our current system. As if it was part of "reform", they would get on board.

Why don't we call their bluff? Why don't the Dem's VERY VERY publicly say we are offering comprehensive, deep law suit limits to be put in to the bill in exchange for their support of a robust public option.

I'd gladly give doctors strong protection from lawsuits in exchange for a real public option.

If they offer this and we still don't get even one Republican Senator, in the public eye it will be obvious the real blame for no reform goes on the Republicans, not on the Democrats.

2. I think the dems need to push Medicare for all. Everything else is just too complicated
for the average Joe to understand. How do they attack Medicare for all? Cost. Show them the cost is not an issue. It's the only way. Clean and simple.

3. Considering that doctors from the single payer organization, Physician's For a National
Health Plan were not given a place at the table when the committee held hearings last summer to discuss this and were arrested when they tried to voice their position from the gallery, I don't think it has a prayer of being listened to by anyone who can do anything about health care. Only the most stupid member of Congress doesn't know the huge cost savings of making Medicare available to everyone would bring. Since they have been bribed by the insurance and PhRMA industries, they will not listen to any side that is against those interests. We are dealing with a very corrupt government today.

5. He has spent the last year placating Confederates on Health Care
including accepting their toxic and counter productive amendments without securing votes.

After this debacle he should be doing a 100% available Medicare through the budget process but we all know (though some will pretend otherwise) that we don't even have 50 real Democrats.

Tort reform does nothing but reduce accountability and insurance payouts while removing rights from the citizen. Look at Texas, they have draconian tort reform but its not saving a dime for the consumer. Its a fucking lie to protect moneyed interests not the public. The Confederates are and long have been bankrupt on ideas and devoid of any interest in the general welfare.
