Geithner: Not A Good Idea To Move Your Money From Big Banks
Geithner On Move Your Money: Not A Good Idea

Until the crypto-Republican troika of Larry, Timmy and Rahm are removed and Dr. Dean is pulled from under the bus, I just can't have any confidence that there'll be any change from the Obama Administration. We've seen what words mean to that crowd - only actions count now.

3. Asshat.
I wouldn't dream of taking my money out of my credit union and putting it in a mega bank. I get personalized, friendly service at the CU and better rates.

This guy needs to go.

11. Love my credit union. I'm not going any where
In fact, I just checked with them last week to be sure I can stay with them if I leave the company. No big banks for me.

4. Screw Geitner and screw the big banks
the big banks have proven they are only in the buisness to make money and screw consumers over. They should have been allowed to fail.

7. Geithner is slimy...
...the first clue was when he had not done his taxes properly.

The guy was nominated to be our friggin' TREASURY SECRETARY but he couldn't be bothered to get his taxes right.

And wonder of wonders, the mistake was in his favor. Imagine that.

Now he tells us, there'll be Big Trouble on Wall Street if his buddy Bernanke is not reappointed to his position.

And then to top it all off he warns us that it's a Bad Idea to move our money out of the big banks.

And President Obama is still listening to this asshat.

8. It wouldn't matter to the Big Banks if a lot on individuals
moved their money! For a very long time, the Big Banks have made it clear...at least to me, that all they really were interested are big business money. I moved my $$, little that it is, from all big bank right after Glass Steigel was
They don't NEED US! Geitner is just kissing A to have said so.

9. He's the Secretary of the Treasury, what did anyone expect him to say?
Run on the banks?

Are people this desperate for controversy?

People are free to do what they want with their money. Geither can't change that.

which he and the administration have not in this instance.

At the very least, he should have kept his weaselly mouth shut.

although I'm sure the banks affected would like that kind of hyperbole to take hold.

48. Exactly. This may be a good way to reduce the size of those "too big to fail"
banks. In addition, community banks and credit unions in my personal experience seem to be more eager to work with smaller "retail" depositors and small businesses.

49. Darn straight
they call and call offering mortgage insurance, refinance, life insurance etc... then the mailings every month... at least three.

this month they stopped using colors on the mortgage payment slips. and even dropped their logo. (to save money I guess) yet the calls and mailings continue to flow.
oh did I mention sending me credit cards without my asking for them. I clip them up and close the account. (I have two and do not want any more. one personal and one business) then they send me another two months later.

they get 71/2% and still want more. They will not drop the prepayment penalty to refinance yet ask and ask to do so.

I'll ask.

My little credit union has always treated me right. With over 25 years of loans, credit cards, retirement savings, and daily banking I have never had a single issue. Not all credit unions are created equally but he can stick his advice...

31. Okay, Timmy convinced me. I'm moving my money tomorrow.
Anything he thinks is 'a bad idea' must be good.

And bailing the banks out did NOT improve the availability of credit. They appear to be using the money to invest in foreign treasuries, which are paying higher rates than US ones.

As far as showing Timmy, Larry, (let's add Ben too) or Rahm you have to figure he hired these guys for a reason. I think they are just doing the job they were hired to do.

The alternative is to believe that our President has been hoodwinked by them.

Has he?
