The Spending "Freeze" - Clinton-Styled "Triangulation" at its worst!

Go after the bankers, and piss off the right, on Monday, go after "entitlement" spending, and piss off the left, on Tuesday, all in the hopes of looking like a moderate, "centerist," in 2010 and 2012.

In other words, in one year, we have gone from "Change you can believe in!" to "Sell out your principles, and your base, and whatever else you need to do, to win re-election."

Hard to fit that slogan on a bumper sticker, Rahm.

I would love to see Glass-Stegall revived, but I'm reminded of the principle of taking the path of least resistance. Rather to face an angry bunch of social workers than angry bankers.

5. As I hear it, several things will be exempt from this "freeze"

including the Pentagon, Homeland Security, foreign aid and "entitlements". I've also heard that health care (if it ever passes), the stimulus, and a "jobs" bill will also not be subject to the "freeze" though I haven't found a link to corroborate that part.
