The Repugs Better Watch Out - I Believe The Media Is Setting Them Up For Failure..... |
|
a partisan Washington makes for better drama in the media and higher ratings. From listening to the summations and analysis after the SOTU speech today - some of the pundits are saying that the Repugs will continue to not cooperate with Obama.
I think the media saying this will cause the Repugs to think that they are on a winning path and embolden them to continue their "NO" campaign.
I think they are falling into a trap if they do. I think the media would love to continue seeing the Repugs reject everything.
However, I really believe after talking with some of my relatives and friends after tonight's speech - that they really had a chance to see the Repugs for what they are - spoilers. I think now after the SOTU that the American people - now more than ever - will expect the Repugs to cooperate with Obama and the Dems. I think if they don't cooperate it will be very evident and I also think that the Dems will be pointing this out every chance they get that the Repugs are the party of "No".
The American people are going to expect more now from the Repugs - and will reject them - come election time - if they don't begin to reach back across the aisle.
Anybody out there agree or am I all wet?

1. I'd like to think you're right, but the media and the repubs are on the |
|
same side. They aren't setting up the pubs, the media is propping up the pubs.

2. I think the ONE good thing about Scott Brown's victory... |
|
.... they may have peaked too early. (Unless the job numbers really dont improve by the fall, in which case we're screwed.)
