Did anyone find McDonnell's fake SOTU recreation weird last night?
Who WERE those people clapping for him in the Virgina statehouse? Friends, family, other GOPers? It was bizarre, like a doppelganger Obama. Strangest response to a SOTU I have seen yet, though Jindal was personally more creepy.

1. Maybe they hired some people to clap? He does claim to be a jobs creator
despite having never done so.

4. All the clapping, like it was a SOTU speech.
Is McDonnell the mini President? The sub President? I just shook my head last night in utter confusion.

6. Has that ever happened before?
Has any opposition party has ever responded to the SOTU from the floor of a State House? I don't think I like that he did that.

stuck with him as our Governor for four years. Bob McDonnell's aura and demeanor reminds me of that within my creepy old Uncle who my parents warned me as a little girl to stay away from during family reunions. McDonnell's right wing philosophy make him even more creepy when considering what he's going to attempt to do to our fair state. :scared:

10. I feel for you.
I only have that scumbag Lieberman as my Senator. My Gov is merely a moderate Repub that would be a Dem in some states.

13. "Who WERE those people clapping for him in the Virgina statehouse?"
I wondered too.

McDonnell challenges Obama

McDonnell gave a smooth performance in his 10-minute speech, delivered in front of a live national TV audience and some 300 friends, family, supporters, administration officials and other Republicans in the House of Delegates chamber.

15. His speech was to the SOTU as a very poorly done high school
production is to Broadway.

Except high school productions aren't that pathetic.

or creepy.

16. If they wanted to "recreate the SOTU" in VA they would have had all the Dems and Repub delegates
there. What kind of bs is it to have just your supporters there? Besides, he could have mailed that speech in. It was a list of platitudes and old Republican talking point chestnuts imo.

Makes you see why the Democratic candidate for Governor was taking such wacky positions.
