I had no clue these 9/11 trials were going to be so expensive for NYC

With Bloomberg changing his tune, this is going to become even more complicated. What should be done?

Every person is entitled to due process. Cost is no excuse for denying anyone their day in court.

3. Move the trial.

What Bloomberg and other are arguing is not that KSM should be tried in a military court, but that a civilian trial should be held at a military facility or some other location that can be secured without bankrupting us. That seems reasonable.

11. To be honest, I can see why Bloomberg wants it moved

Initially, my reaction was that this was just hysterics, but since reading more on it, it's become clear that the security levels the feds are requiring (excessive, IMO) are going to wreak absolute havoc in Lower Manhattan. They're talking about flooding 2000 security personnel into the area and securing a vast quadrant with barriers, etc. And that's not even discussing the expense.

As I said, it seems really excessive. But so long as the Feds insist on that level of security, then maybe it does make sense to move the trial to another location.
