What Obama should do.
1) Stop being "Mr. Spock" and be "General Patton." Get that fire back into your belly from the campaign, get focused, articulate a powerful values-based message, and go forward like all hell as if there is no tomorrow.

2) Get out and connect to the folks. Good that you went to Florida. Good that you are going to Baltimore. Get out there, and STAY out there. And TALK FROM THE GUT ! You need to connect to people on an emotional level, especially in a deep recession. (i.e. FDR's fireside chats).

3) FOCUS the congress and push them hard to pass what is POPULAR and what CAN pass, AND those things that if the R's opposed would make them look like the TOTAL ASSHATS that they are. I.E.:

* PASS the healthcare reform PIECES that CAN pass NOW. (i.e. stopping pre-existing conditions
exemptions, stopping denial of coverage, etc. - wait on the more controversial pieces)

* PASS a new jobs stimulus NOW.

* PASS new financial regulations NOW.

* PASS new campaign finance reforms NOW.

Etc.
