President Obama gave them an entire year to either put up, or shut up.
The Republicans considered the efforts on bipartisanship made by this administration to be weakness. Instead of using that wasted time to help the president put this country back to rights, they saw an opportunity to score cheap political points at the expense of this nations citizens.

They confused political courtesy with political naivete.

President Obama has just focused the attention of the entire country on the fact that the Republican Party and its members are entirely bereft of any idea as to how to run this government.

President Obama has just blindsided them using their own hubris, in public, on the national media outlets.

The president will now set the agenda, whether Republicans are on board or not.

If not, they have just stepped into a trap of their own making.

:hi: He gave them a chance, but their leadership isn't very smart and now they have been exposed. It's a very good Friday afternoon.

4. I totally agree.
Obama basically did the equivalent of grabbing them by the hand, and using it to slap themselves in the face, and then saying "Why do you keep slapping yourselves in the face, huh? Why?"

This was the sweetest, most delicious Repuke smackdown EVER!!!

:headbang:

7. BUT - he has to be EXPLICIT and state that reality over and over again. Soft-selling that
message by using weak-assed language only enables the media to ignore and spin.

He needs to repeatedly and aggressively call them out on it.

Subtlety does not work as a political communications mode in present-day Amerika.

As Marty told his Dad, "Yes, George. For Christ's sake, curse."
