1. Depends on what might be accomplished- and the nature of the opposition

If it will only further the opposition's interests and agenda- while damaging your own, it's counterproductive.

If it makes you look weak- without a backbone, while the opposition looks dauntless and united- it's just plain dumb.

Especially in America.

he's knocking down every RW talking point that, up 'til now, they got to repeat unchallenged. This was great for people to finally see a rebuttal to all the BS talking points.

We need to stop trying to find common ground and begin to recognize there isnt any common ground after a year of trying.

4. The problem is most independent voters want congress to work together

that is why they vote by splitting their ticket, they believe that by electing cons and Dems they get a balanced government. We have seen the results of their thinking but again your dealing with a belief system that is nearly impossible to change.

on opposing everything Obama proposes. However, it is meaningful that the American people can watch it. Normally the Republicans can slither in and out of MSM studios to recite their talking points, largely uncontested. That did not happen today.

This was the most transparent discussion between the representative of the majority and the entire minority Congressional caucus in the history of this nation.

And it rocked my fucking socks off.

If some Republicans don't get on board and compromise, they'll paint themselves the obstructionists and the American people will blatantly see it.

If some Republicans get on board then progressive policies will move forward and this nation will move forward.
