Where was Hillary during the SOTU. I have asked and also
tried on the State Dept. site, but I keep getting interference and can't get through. I'm sure she was either in another country or was in a safe underground place, etc. Anybody know?

1. She's over in Europe working on behalf of the Obama administration.
Today she was in France (or at least yesterday).

2. I saw some photos of her in France...
I believe she was sent by Obama. She was not the designated person in the safe place.

a very important meeting in another country and absolutely had to be there. Can't remember which country.

she was in London. She asked Obama if she should stay for the speech and he said she was needed more in London.

14. I don't know, but usually someone in the chain of succession
is chosen to stay away from the SOTU. Otherwise you would have nobody to run the country if the unthinkable happened. I don't know if Byrd was the official one, but it's nice to know that somebody a little less frail than him was away from the party also.

21. She was on her way to Yemen. Obama asked her to keep the appointment.
It wasn't known until recently exactly when the SOTU would be. It tuned out to conflict with her travel plans.

She volunteered to cancel the meeting for the SOTU but Obama said the meeting was more important.

They looked into making her to "absent" cabinet member for the SOTU, but that person has to be in the US in the undisclosed loaction... makes sense.

So the HUD guy was the designated absentee.
