Meanwhile, Freepers' heads explode all over the Internets...

<...>

Predictable reactions from the Freepi (link embedded in diary) included denial, delusion, and downplay:

<...>

Obama looked like a bumbling, uninformed, phony moron. Now if the press wants to spin it another way, who cares? This event will be forgotten before the end of the weekend. However, some of Obama’s answers will be saved on tape forever.

The House GOP did a very good job grilling Obama. Quit being frightened by Obama.

<...>

(One moment while I wipe the soda from my monitor after snorting it through my nose in laughter. Oy, what a visual...)

More reactions included anger at their own party--and they call US a divided party?

It appears the perception is that Obama skillfully reached out to the STUPID Republicans.

Whoever set this up needs to be voted out this November.

Goodbye 2010 elections.

Will these ignorant fools ever learn? You turn out your base and the independents follow.

Does this party love being the permanent minority?

Did they learn nothing in 2006 and 2008?

The elections is all but being handed to them on a silver platter and they wish to throw it away.

Some of the commenters were downright vicious, and directed their vitriol at Obama--spitefully, which is SO uncharacteristic of them (NOT):

Hit Obama hard and really tear him apart.
Look how the democrats bashed Bush and it worked.
Republicans have to stop being courteous.
Obama is loathsome to say the least.
He's trying to destroy our Republic, so state exactly that and point to his deficits, his big government solutions and his unprecedented spending.

(Ummmm...were the Republicans EVER that courteous to him? I mean, when it wasn't directly to his face...)

<...>

Freepi! LOL!

"Republicans have to stop being courteous."

edited typo.

4. I get three things out of this
1. Their cheeks are smarting because their party looked stupid in front of the world

2. Instead of being happy that in their minds the Democrats are losing the next elections they're angry about it. Dumb!

3. The fact we bashed Bush sticks in their craw

7. What Obama did yesterday was turn on the light...
...and reveal to republicans and regular citizens the box that republicans have placed themselves in. No matter how many times they try to pretend that they want to work with the President, Obama explained to the dumb-asses why they will never be able to, and it's all of their own making.

Choke on that, freepers.

20. all too true, but...
Does that mean we WANT to become like them. Not that your in their boat, but it seems that the gnashing masses among us want both zero bi-partisanship and rude behavior from us. Seems like the want to become the vary monsters that we have come to know.

23. What does 'not that your in their boat' mean?
Do you mean 'you're'?

See, I only point out grammatical mistakes to people who overgeneralize and think that Democrats need to be polite to a bunch of thugs whose only goal is to bring down the President.

9. Yeah, he sure looked like a "bumbling, uninformed, phony moron."
And to these people, George W. Bush looked commanding, informed, genuine and intelligent.

Every day is Opposites Day in Free Republic!

10. Even Kerry made bush look like a fool but what did it get him.
The swift boaters lied so much about his military service the dumbed down public believed it. And the box on his back giving him the answers to most of the questions, which we all know it was, was never challenged and never made public. And Fox...Fox News is the one who caught it, and showed it to the public. And it was still ignored.

11. Well, a lot of those people are still around, and they
realize they were fooled. Even if they have a relapse of complacency, things have changed a lot since 2004, especially on the Internet.
