The Baltimore Massacre
That's what I am calling the Presidential beat down of the GOP yesterday. So far the Republican friends I have used it on really don't like it. Feel free to use it, it will not begin to even the score for the Democrat Party, but it is a start.

3. Can we pronounce it
"Massacree" like in Alice's Restaurant? If so, then I'm in! :D (Just kiddin'--I'd be in anyway!)

6.  You can get anything you want,
including your preferred pronunciation. Neither Alice or Arlo would have it any other way.

4. First off, it's the "Democratic" Party...
Reactionaries have force-fed us this renaming of the operation just like they've systematically demonized the term "liberal", and we've played right along.

Sorry, just something stuck in my craw...

8.  My attempt at humor didn't work.
I was suggesting a term RWers would not like as payback for their high handed and juvenile misuse of our name.

10. And say it like one of my old college professors said it...
.... it was 123 year old white guy from the south, runnin' buddies with Strom Thurmond. He always pronounced it, "mass-a-cree."

11. I am pretty sure you will relate to these lines I posted on another thread
"They said he was too nice. They inferred he was a lightweight. They said he was wounded by the loss of Teddy's seat.

"But today, he cleanly rebounded from the Republicans' remarks implying he was about to take a dive by leaping squarely into the center of the ring and landing a flurry of rapid fire punches, leaving his political opponents bleeding and staggering, apparently in a stupor.

"Obama is nobody's door mat, nobody's fool, and obviously nobody's punching bag."

In other words, chieftain, he roped a few dopes in a manner reminiscent of a true Champ.

12.  Awesome. I love your post.
It brings to mind the picture of Ali standing triumphant over a prone Sonny Liston but with a knowing smile playing on the corners of his mouth instead of the growling countenance of the Champ.

13. Well it started out as a Republican Retreat but by the end of the
90 minutes it was a Massacre.

Wondered what happened to the poor fellow that came up with "Republican Retreat".
