Please.
Please, consider this single point.

The media is NOT on our side.

I'm sorry to hammer on this, but it's important that everyone "gets it" before the next news cycle. Because it will be a doozy.

Just because they tell you Obama is a media darling, they are NOT all of a sudden on our side. It's the same media they've told you for years is "liberal." We didn't believe it during the last administration, but all of a sudden we're buying it now?

In the next news cycle, they will offer a thousand stories on politics, the wars, the economy. All of them will slant to do one of two things: divide the left and encourage the right.

In the last 24 hours we've seen misleading headlines and buried ledes designed to agitate the left. Misrepresentations of events we all witnessed and "errors" of omission crafted to embolden the right.

Please, please, please. Look at these stories through that prism. This is the same media who helped lie us into at least one war, who told us the bubble would never burst, and that any number of people would be in the White House besides the guy who's sitting in the chair at the moment.

This is the same media who a year ago we knew couldn't be trusted to report accurately on the color of the sky if it somehow helped progressives. But now we jump at every "OMG teh Democrats are actually secret fascist warmongerers!!11!" story they throw out there.

We are in a lull at the moment. Don't be fooled. This eye of the storm was brought on by a weekend, nothing else. We slap one another's backs, they are ready to twist reality anew on Monday.

Be ready.

1. I agree. The media is nothing but a handful of corporation,
and in the end, they don't want the tax cuts to end for them or their employees.
IN addition, they don't give a shit about health care, or anything else beneficial
to the American people. They have proven this time and time again, and yet,
many here at DU sniff up media manipulative stories like its cocaine, and they are addicts.

2. Yeah, the goddam liberal media
Still can't manage to find them.

They are all about themselves, they have no interest in reporting or analyzing, just self-promotion. And kissing up to the corporate owners.
I won't call them whores, that would give honest professionals a bad name.

8. We won?
What? You mean the fact that we have dems in office means we've won? We are losing rights all over the place yet you think we've won the war?

Of course I don't expect a reply from you, you are a hit and runner.

6. Indeed
The media is not on our side.

No corporation really is on our side. They use us for every little bit they can and then throw us away.

I've seen plenty of stories about us that should have been run but never was, while plenty of stories against us that should have never been run, were run with as much favorable shtick as they could muster.

And I have pissed on a couple of reporters for doing so. Bastards. It really is no wonder why there are so many ignorant dolts: the media wants them that way.

9. Reality is going to hit Sunday morning....plenty of repigs on the Sunday shows.
But one thing to remember....Obama DID also go after the divisive media during his GOP smackdown.

And I have a feeling he will do it again.

The corporatemedia is Public Enemy Number One for America.

What must it be like to be a mediawhore whose only alligence is to elect republicons bc they give you a tax break and you go with that no matter how they sell our country down the river?

Big Business has always trampled us under foot in order to maintain their superiority and control.

13. Perfect example: After the meeting on Friday, Lukie Russert reported, breathlessly, that
an unnamed repub said "we made a big mistake". His report went viral and the video was all over the place. He must have been reprimanded, because yesterday his tune changed and in an interview with Alex Twit (whose bias is hard to hide) he didn't mention it, but rather described the Q&A as a thoughtful exchange, etc. etc.

15. Also
You know the M$M is happy as can be with the recent SCOTUS ruling.

It means a lot of extra money to them. Think of the added political commercials they will air.

20. When they praised the Village Idiot and trashed Gore I knew they weren't
on our side. That was ten years ago. And before that it was the Monica Lewinsky scandal and 24/7/365 OJ and Michael Jackson. The media stopped being about real news a long time ago. Probably around the time Walter Cronkite retired.
