1. Awe, come on! Don't force us to go to Halperin's page.....
I don't care for him, and don't really want to give Time-Warner any hits.

4. Here ya go everyone:
HALPERIN'S TAKE: Opportunities Obama Now Has

1. A chance to get the public – and the press – to listen to him again.

2. Start to frame the Washington policy debates – and the midterms – as a choice between his way and the Republicans' way.

3. Make bipartisan compromise on education and other issues by calling the Republicans bluff in the light of day.

4. Take pressure off of some of his beleaguered advisers.

5. Deal with health care, by passing something quick, putting it off, or looking for a bipartisan deal – the point is, he has options now.

6. Most of all: gets him off the defensive.

HALPERIN'S TAKE: Dangers Obama Faces Now

1. A potential Scott Brown eclipse.

2. Hard to do public events that will match the House Republican showdown, leading to press ennui.

3. Even if D.C. Republicans are semi-inclined under pressure to cooperate, the extreme, loud wings of both parties are still totally against it.

4. Deficit reduction is one of the most ripe areas for compromise, but it could hamper job growth.

5. He is going to create enemies and opposition all over with the budget.

6. Most of all: Almost all the challenges he faced last week are still with him – he needs to keep the momentum going or the situation could backslide.

I agree with some stuff with Halperin (much as I hate to admit as he is a slimeball) but a Scott Brown eclipse, huh?

6. Scott Brown
is the new Sarah Palin...no substance that will soon be exposed.

Ever since the rise of Obama the Republicans have been frantically trying to match it. It's getting old and predictable.

7. Boy, where do I start? Obama's Dangers
Obama's Dangers

1. "A potential Scott Brown eclipse"? :wtf: is Halperin smoking? His win is probably not going to look that "historic" (but rather more like an aberration) a couple of years from now IMHO. He won a Democratic Senate seat in a special off-year election against an admittedly bad Democratic candidate. Methinks the Repubs and corporate media can't help themselves from making more out of it than is actually warranted, but, well, you know............

2. Well, maybe that's not such a bad thing. corporate media coverage typically sucks balls anyway. But OTOH what else are they going to cover?

3. True- which is probably why they're not going to cooperate at all- and hopefully will pay because of it. The voters seem to expect Democrats to be "bipartisan" but no pressure on the Repubs???? Really?

4. We shouldn't worry so much about "Deficit Reduction" right now with the economy in the shape it is in IMHO. Why don't we try "Smart Spending" instead???

5. Obama's already got plenty of enemies and opposition with the budget. Geez! Tell us something new. :eyes:

6. While he needs to keep the momentum up himself to some degree, it is the Dems in Congress whom REALLY need to get their "house" (pun intended) in order and start sticking together (and calling out the "gNOP" when they obstruct and/or fail to provide reasonable alternatives/input).

9. Doesn't matter. What's important is that he changed the momentum. Now we'll see what happen
