Should Joe Biden Quit the VP and run for the Senate again?

But in that scenario who should The president Nominate for VP?

Can we forgoe the obvious? I personally like HRC where she is and in many senses it would be a step down. And she is not going to Run for Prez in 2016--Simply is not going to happen.

So who then would sail to confirmation? Would be acceptable to the left? Who would be a boon to the ticket in 2012?

Someone young with a future aspiration? Or some one who could fill in effectively should the horrific occur?

I get the whole idea of keeping the seat open for Beau but they should've made sure he was interested in running before they did that. That was an epic fail.

7. No - why would anyone trade being VP for being a very Junior Senator

Many have said that he would regain his seniority. This is NOT true as can be seen with Lautenberg, who returned as a favor to the Senate Democrats.

But, given your question, it is very hard to pick because you need someone that has a long enough track record that we really now him or her. You rule out anyone "old" - and that seems to be why you eliminated Clinton - so using under 60 is likely the oldest you mean. Then rule out anyone in public service less than say 6 years.

First, here are the Senators:
Blanche Lincoln - who might not even be re-elected and is hated by the left
Evan Bayh - hated by most on the left
Mary Landeau - might not be re-elected and is hated by the left
Debbie Stabanow - who is 59
Chuck Schumer - 59 years
Maria Cantwell -
Russ Feingold - who may be one of the top 5 Democrats for not voting with Obama.

None of these are that exciting. (Feingold is loved here, but I would guess that he is not a favorite of the administration.

The question then is are their exciting Democratic governors?

brand over the economic collapse or many of the other outrages of the past 8 years (preferring instead to let bygones be bygones) Dems will likely lose this seat and many others.

My guess is 6 or 7 at this point. Maybe more depending on how the Democrats play it the next several months.
