Enough is enough.
The Republicans want to do one thing, and one thing only...be perceived as the cause of President Obama's "failure," no matter what cost that may extract from the American People who continue without jobs, healthcare, the essentials of LIFE.
President Obama, today you said:
So don't bridge the gap. Bring in the political equivalent of a daisy cutter, and stencil "GOP" on the side. Use every single piece of fine print that gives you the power to do what you know must be done. Stop seeking agreement...you aren't going to get it.
Stop by the offices of every Blue Dog Democrat and have a friendly, informal chat about the daisy cutters. Let them know who you are and what you were elected to do. Make them choose sides, declare their allegiances, and make them do so in the most public and lasting manner possible. Call them out just like you've been doing with the GOP. Maintain eye contact and take careful note of what registers on their face when they realize
you mean business. The Republicans aren't your friends. They're jockeying for position. They want to ridicule you, ruin you, and while this political grandstanding continues, the country continues to suffer. They email cartoons about you and fried chicken and watermelon to their cronies.
The Republicans aren't your friends.
I think you saw it today...in your "the campaign is over" remark to John McCain, in the statement I've quoted above.
And in the most Presidential manner I could imagine, you gave them one last chance. You gave them the benefit of the doubt. And you saw what you saw, you heard what you heard.
Get the daisy cutters.
We've got your back.
