"rammed down our throats" |
|
nobody is ramming anything down anyone's throat.
the next time that gets said, I wish someone would ask the speaker just what is supposed to be rammed down their throats.
nothing has been 'rammed'. they are touting empty words. boring!
I'd like to ram 'rammed down our throats' you know where.

3. Oh no! The President and the Dems, which happen to be in the majority, |
|
might actually pass something the President was elected on. Wow. It is so undemocratic.:sarcasm:

4. The senate passed health care legislation by a 60 to 40 vote. |
|
The house passed health care legislation by an even wider margin. Nothing has been rammed down anyone's throats. Its true a few inconsistencies need to be ironed out and that's what reconciliation is for - to reconcile the minor differences between the two passed pieces of legislation.
This is no big deal - but a desperate opposition owned by the insurance industry will say anything and do anything to kill health care reform dead in its tracks.
The fact is both the House and the Senate have passed health care reform - republican'ts just don't want to admit it.

6. Since the Dems were going to get blamed anyway |
|
it made economic and political sense to pass something popular and effective.
